LOS ANGELES (AP) An AIDS medical care group is protecting an advertisement campaign in Los Angeles that links popular dating apps utilizing the spread of intimate diseases that are transmitted.
The AIDS Healthcare Foundation targets Tinder, a location-based relationship software and Grindr, an identical web web site for homosexual guys, in billboards and coach benches which can be targeted at reminding users concerning the dangers of casual intercourse and offering free STD tests.
“In numerous ways, location-based mobile relationship apps have become an electronic bathhouse for millennials wherein the second intimate encounter can literally you should be a few feet away plus the next STD,” Whitney Engeran-Cordova, senior general general public wellness manager for the foundation, said in a statement.
Billboards reveal a silhouette of a guy labeled “Tinder” face-to-face by having a woman’s silhouette labeled “chlamydia.” A silhouette of a person labeled “Grindr” faces a male silhouette labeled “gonorrhea.”
Effect through the dating apps had been swift.
